blog feedMuch organization precedes Rainbow Network's decision to actually set up a network in a particular rural community. We meet with people in the community and then call a "town hall" meeting and invite everyone to a location where we meet for two or three hours. Committees are formed to coordinate our efforts in housing, healthcare, education, and economic development. New partnerships are born.
Nearly 5,000 Nicaraguans volunteer on a daily basis to make Rainbow Network work in their communities! Our partnership approach does more than keep our agency efficient by allowing us to thrive on volunteer efforts.
Partnership is much more rewarding, much more empowering, and much more respectful than a handout. Rainbow Network's partnership model meets today's needs while also providing the hope that will be necessary to help the people of Nicaragua create a different tomorrow.
It is working... Rainbow Network now serves 124 communities in Nicaragua. That amounts to nearly 50,000 people who lives are being changed. Rainbow Network is working to help Nicaraguans build working economies and homes for their children, we are helping to provide needed nutrition for today and education for tomorrow and there are thousands of people who are better off for it.
